Hi everyone, and welcome
back from summer break. I hope it was a glorious season for you all and
that your summer dreams weren’t ripped at the seams….
It’s been a long time since one of these mailings, and I have some fun things to report!
First of all, I’ve just added sheet music for three more songs at my
online music store,
specifically “The Core of Ponte,” “When It Comes to You,” and “P.A.’s
Turn.” And “The Core of Ponte” and “P.A.’s Turn” are available in both
men’s and women’s keys.
Incidentally, you can order custom transpositions of any of my sheet music songs or songbook songs. See the
music store page
for instructions and rates. And don’t forget - if you’ve been wanting
sheet music for one of my songs and it’s still not available,
drop me an email and let me know. I actually listen to these requests!
As for my musical theatre writing projects, I have three now, in various stages of development:
•Hashi,
an original musical in collaboration with Beth Blatt, about a cranky,
40-something single woman in NYC who gets custody of a ten-year-old
nephew she didn’t know she had and how he changes her life.
•
The Red Rose Girls, a musical inspired by t
he book of the same name,
about three female artists in an extraordinary relationship with a
fourth woman who served as their “wife” in the early 1900’s.
And, get this-
•
Karen, the Musical. Yes, that’s right,
Megan Mullally will resurrect her character from
Will and Grace,
Karen Walker, and bring her to the stage in an original musical that can only be described as… original. :-)
For those of you who’ve asked, I haven’t forgotten about the
podcast. I’m hoping to upload a new episode in the next few weeks….
October 20th marks the release of
Rebecca Luker’s new CD,
Greenwich Time, which will include her beautiful rendition of “Lovely Lies” (music by me, lyrics by Beth Blatt).
Though
acting is something I do with less and less frequency, you will be able
to find me on the small screen in October on this season's second
episode of
Ugly Betty.
I’ll be the designer’s snotty assistant at the U.N. with the French
accent. Or no accent. We did it both ways. (Oh, the suspense!)
Finally, some of you have been following my blog,
Jeff and Martha, inspired by
Julie and Julia, which chronicles my experiences over the course of a year cooking my way through the book,
Martha Stewart’s Cooking School. Well, the good people at
The Martha Stewart Show
have discovered my blog, and there’s talk of having me on the show to
cook something with Martha. (!!!!) If this happens, I will definitely
be back in touch to let you know the date!
Thanks again for your interest in me and/or my music. You can find me on Twitter
here, on Facebook
here, and the rest of the time on
here.
Happy Fall!
XO
Jeff
